Aquaman stands at the shoreline, the glowing ocean of a Lassen-style sunset stretching before him. His legs are touched by the waves, beckoning him toward the sea, yet his arms are burdened with towels, toys, and beach gear. In the foreground, his wife holds their baby over her shoulder, the child pointing directly at the viewer as she tells Aquaman to hurry up. The painting captures the tension between duty and desire, the hero caught between two worlds.

Hurry Up, The Baby Just Filled His Pants – Barry™ | A Hero Torn Between Two Worlds

Acrylic on Canvas, 4’H x 5’W

Aquaman stands at the shoreline, his feet sinking into the wet sand, the waves reaching for him like an old lover, whispering their call to return. The water shimmers with a surreal, Lassen-style glow—the kind of impossible sunset that exists only in art and fantasy. It is a moment of beauty, a siren song of the deep, but he cannot answer it.

Not yet.

Behind him, the real weight of his world takes shape. His wife, back turned to the viewer, is fully engaged in the business of motherhood. The baby, perched over her shoulder, is not yet bound by duty—pointing directly at the viewer, as if eager for an introduction. The message is clear: Aquaman may command the tides, but he is no longer master of his own time.

Scattered around him, the trappings of fatherhood litter the beach—a bright umbrella, sand-covered towels, plastic toys destined to be forgotten in the rush to leave. One arm grips the umbrella, its weight unbalanced by the towels draped over it, slipping, barely held together. The other hand carries a bucket filled with toys and a single plastic shovel—remnants of a moment already passed. Just behind his leg, a beach ball drifts aimlessly, caught in the tide’s gentle pull.

And then, the voice from the shore:

“Hurry up, the baby just filled his pants.”
